"Fenix is the first one to comprehensively implement ANSI Standard in China"
Untill now, there has been no standardized testing or uniform rating system for flashlight's.This made if difficult for consumers to rate and compare various flashlights, headlamps etc.
The ANSI/NEMA FL1-2009 Standard has now come into effect, which is jointly made by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)and the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA).
To follow the international tendency and highlight Fenix's high-quality products,Fenix have become the first Chinese company to implement the ANSI/NEMA FL-1 2009 testing regime with their products. This will help retailers and consumers gain a clearer understanding of the performance provided by a given product
In line with the ANSI/NEMA FL1-2009 Standard, Fenix has 100% confidence to provide a high quality and reliable product.
A.Light Output

A measurement of the total quantity of emitted overall light energy as measured by integrating the entire angular output of the portable light source. The value is reported in lumens.
B.Runtime

The duration of time from the initial light output value (that's 30 seconds after the light is turned on with fresh batteries) until the light output drops to 10% of the initial value.
C.Beam Distance

The distance from the device at which the light beam is 0.25 lux. Results are reported in meters.
D.Peak Beam Intensity

The maximum luminous intensity typically along the central axis of a cone of light. This measures the brightest part of the beam. The value is reported in candela.
E.Impact Resistance

The degree to which a portable light resists damage when dropped on a solid surface. Dropped samples must not exhibit any cracks or breaks, and must remain fully functional in order to pass the Impact Resistance test.
F.Water Resistance

There are three tests that measure water resistance:
Resistance to Temporary Immersion in Water
Resistance to Continuous Immersion in Water
Resistance to Splashing Water
Note:
Fenix has adopted ANSI Standard to its new products. All parameters are in line with the standard, such as LD25, LD40, E21 and HP20.And all of the subsequent products will gradually be in line with the standard.
